Overview

Lactococcus garvieae is a Gram-positive coccus that causes lactococcosis, typically a haemorrhagic septicemia in fish, and is emerging in marine species including sea bass (rarely reported) and trout. When infection occurs in grow-out stages, clinical signs may include haemorrhages, exophthalmia (bulging eyes), abnormal swimming behaviour, lethargy and high mortality in some cases. Commercial vaccines exist for trout (fresh‐water salmonids) and are under development for marine species such as sea bass.

The Lactococcus garvieae Probe-based qPCR Kit (Lyophilized) is a ready-to-use, freeze-dried reagent system for the rapid and sensitive detection of L. garvieae DNA in biological samples.
This assay utilizes a probe-based real-time qPCR approach to ensure high specificity and accurate quantification of bacterial load, supporting reliable diagnostics and research in fish health and aquaculture disease monitoring.

Each lyophilized reaction bead is pre-formulated with all essential components — DNA polymerase, dNTPs, optimized buffer, and fluorescent probe mix — ensuring consistent performance and eliminating the need for cold-chain logistics.

Instructions for Use
